Tips for Midsommar with Kids

Make a flower crown in the morning

Pick wildflowers with the kids and tie crowns before heading out. Many venues run on-site workshops too — arrive early if you want to join.

Arrive for the maypole raising

The highlight is when the maypole goes up, usually 1–3 PM. Come 30 minutes early for a good spot. Ring dances follow — "Små grodorna" is non-negotiable.

Pack a picnic

Herring, new potatoes and strawberries are traditional. Shops close early on Midsommarafton — buy supplies the day before.
