Ekholmsnäsbacken
Ekholmsnäsbacken is a ski facility on Lidingö outside Stockholm and is home to the Lidingö ski club and Lidingö Freeskiers. The slope proudly stands at 70 meters above sea level and has two slopes, a T-bar lift, and a button lift. The slope has been upgraded in recent years with a state-of-the-art snow system to cover the slope with artificial snow even under the most demanding conditions. Already in the 80s, the slope was a popular outdoor area for Stockholm's skiing enthusiasts and has since hosted many classic competitions and events, with the most memorable parallel slalom in 1982 where Ingemar Stenmark broke his leg to the horror of the audience. Ekholmsnäsbacken on Lidingö has been operated since the 2016/2017 season by the company Snow Consulting, which also operates Ekebyhovsbacken in Ekerö.
