Åbergs Museum

Åbergs Museum, located in Bålsta just outside Stockholm, is a family-friendly destination. Founded by Lasse Åberg and opened in 2002 in a stylish old 19th-century barn, it houses a fantastic collection of comic-inspired art and original comics, one of the world's foremost antique Disney collections, and an exhibition with props, photos, and costumes from the Stig-Helmer films. The museum is suitable for children of all ages, offering indoor and outdoor play areas, an art treasure hunt, a quiz in the art hall, and the popular Trazan-kojan. Outside, there's the 'Banankontakt' playground inspired by Trazan and Banarne. Picnic tables are available for packed lunches. The museum is also a popular venue for children's birthday parties, offering a unique experience with fika, play in Trazankojan, and balloons and tiger lollipops for the children. The museum's collections include original comics from world-leading cartoonists, pop art by famous artists like Picasso, Haring, Lichtenstein, and Warhol, and a premier collection of antique Disney items from 1928-1940. It also features the world's only Stig-Helmer museum. The museum is easily accessible by car and commuter train from Stockholm.
