Årsta bibliotek

The library is located in Årsta Center, about a ten-minute bus ride on line 160 or light rail from Gullmarsplan or Liljeholmen. If you travel by light rail, get off at Valla Torg and walk about five minutes towards Årsta Torg. The library has an active friends' association that organizes several events each season. We are a cashless library. You can pay with card or Swish. You can borrow books easily at one of our machines. We have two machines, one to the right in the adult section and one to the left in the children's section. Reserved books can be found in the adult section, next to the information desk. You need a library card to borrow and reserve books. In the apps Bibblix and Biblio, you can borrow e-books and audiobooks with your card. The library card also gives you access to digital services here on the website. The card is free. If you have your own computer, tablet, or mobile phone, you can connect to our WiFi/wireless network. The network is unencrypted and all activity is logged. If you study or work at a college or university with eduroam, you can log in to the network from the library. If you have difficulty reading printed books or have trouble getting to the library, we can assist you in various ways. We have aids and literature specifically adapted for dyslexia or other reading disabilities. Our facilities are also specially adapted for you with various disabilities. Service dogs are welcome in all our libraries (for example, guide dogs or assistance dogs). Hearing loops are available at the information desk. The 'Books on the Way' service is free for those who are long-term ill or have mobility impairments and cannot come to the library themselves. Contact customer service for assistance. If you have difficulty reading printed text due to a disability, you get free access to Legimus. At the library, you will receive help registering an account in Legimus. If you are studying, you should primarily turn to your school for access to Legimus. We have two computers where you can use the internet for 60 and 15 minutes per day, respectively. The computers are located in the adult section. A computer for searching for books is available in both the adult and children's sections. Our printer can be found to the right inside the entrance to the adult section. There you can also copy and scan. You can print and copy in black and white and color, in A4 and A3. You print via a service called Princh, from the library's computers or from your own computer, tablet, or mobile phone. You pay and pick up your printout yourself. Information on how to do this is available at the library. An accessible toilet with a changing table is available in the children's section. You need a code to access the toilet. Ask the staff for the code. We have study spaces located one floor up in the adult section. The spaces are not bookable. We also have a quiet reading room that is not bookable. Sometimes the room is occupied for library activities. The room is located in the adult section. Café Årstabo is in the same building as the library. We do not accept requests for exhibitions at the library. Contact us if you want to book a tour of the library. All our libraries subscribe to newspapers and magazines that you can read on-site at the library. We have a newspaper corner at the far left of the entrance. Through Pressreader, Artikelsök, and Retriever Media Archive, you can read newspapers, magazines, and articles. Study driving theory for free with Trafiko at the library! Connect to the library's WiFi to access videos, driving questions, e-books, and audiobooks. The theory is available in Swedish, English, Persian, and Arabic. The library has equipment for genealogy research and literature on the subject. All bookable computers in the libraries have access to ArkivDigital and the National Archives. On our Facebook page, you will receive updates about what is happening at the library.
