Franciskusdagen 2026

Francis Day is celebrated every other year in Kungsträdgården in Stockholm. Soon it will be time again for this festival that gathers both young and old, and not least our four-legged friends! Francis of Assisi was an Italian monk born in the late 1100s who founded the Franciscan order. Francis is venerated as a saint. To remember Saint Francis' great love for animals and nature, it is an old Catholic tradition to bless animals on Francis Day (actually on October 4).
