Hornstulls bibliotek

Centrally but still secluded, Hornstulls library is located in a beautiful red brick building that was once a shoe factory. The library has been around for over 110 years in Södermalm, but at different addresses. We are located on Hornsbruksgatan, which runs parallel to Hornsgatan towards Långholmsgatan just below Högalidskyrkan. By subway, take the red line and get off at Hornstulls subway station. We are a cashless library. You can pay with card or Swish. You can easily borrow from our borrowing machines. There are two machines in the adult section and one in the children's section. Reserved books can be found in the reservation shelf. If you have your own computer, tablet, or mobile phone, you can connect to our WiFi/wireless network. The network is unencrypted, and all activity is logged. We have three computers that you can use to surf the web. They are located in the adult section and do not need to be booked in advance. There are also two computers that you can use to search the catalog, one in the adult section and one in the children's section. We have a printer, where you can also copy and scan. You can print and copy in black and white and color, in A4 and A3. You print via a service called Princh, from the library's computers or from your own computer, tablet, or mobile phone. You pay and collect your printout yourself. The library has information on how to do this. If you need help with printing, our loan computers, or similar, ask our IT host Hilmi, who is present on weekdays during library hours. If you have difficulty reading printed books or have trouble getting to the library, we can help you in various ways. We have aids and literature specially adapted for dyslexia or other reading difficulties. Our premises are also specially adapted for you with disabilities of various kinds. Service dogs are welcome in all our libraries (for example, guide dogs or assistance dogs). Hearing loops are available at the information desk. The book delivery service is a free service for those who are long-term ill or have mobility impairments and cannot come to the library themselves. If you have difficulty reading printed text due to a disability, you get free access to Legimus. At the library, you will receive help to register an account in Legimus. All our libraries subscribe to newspapers and magazines that you can read on-site in the library. You can also read digital newspapers, magazines, and articles in Pressreader, Artikelsök, and Retriever Media Archive. Study driving theory for free with Trafiko at the library! Connect to the library's WiFi to access videos, driving theory questions, e-books, and audiobooks. The theory is available in Swedish, English, Persian, and Arabic. The library has equipment for genealogy research and literature on the subject. All bookable computers in the libraries have access to ArkivDigital and the National Archives. We have two toilets. One toilet is in the adult section and costs 5 SEK to use. The other toilet is in the children's section. It has a changing table and is free to use. We have about 8 study places, but no separate study room. Hornstulls library has a gallery. Are you interested in exhibiting art? Feel free to send us your proposal by emailing us.
