Skärholmens bibliotek

Skärholmen's library is centrally located in Skärholmen's center with a view of the square and an entrance from Bredholmsgatan, one flight up. The nearest entrance to the mall is close to Skärholmen's church and is called SKHLM 7. Skärholmen's library is home to the Swedish Children's Book Academy. We are a cashless library. You can pay with card or Swish. You can easily borrow at one of the two machines located at the entrance. Reserved books can be found in the reservation shelf, directly to the right when you enter the entrance. You need a library card to borrow and reserve books. In the Biblio app, you can borrow e-books and audiobooks with your card. The library card also gives you access to digital services here on the website. The card is free. If you have your own computer, tablet, or mobile phone, you can connect to our WiFi/wireless network. The network is unencrypted and all activity is logged. If you study or work at a college or university with eduroam, you can log into the network from the library. If you have difficulty reading printed books or have trouble getting to the library, we can assist you in various ways. We have aids and literature specifically adapted for dyslexia or other reading difficulties. Our premises are also specially adapted for you with disabilities of various kinds. We have eight computers that you can borrow to use the internet. Two can be used for 60 minutes per day, four can be used for 30 minutes per day, and two can be used for 15 minutes per day. The computers are located near the information desk at the entrance. We also have two computers in the children's section. Those under 18 years can use them for 30 minutes per day. Our printer is located to the right of the information desk, next to the computers. There you can also copy and scan. You can print and copy in black and white and color, in A4 and A3. All our libraries subscribe to newspapers and magazines that you can read on-site in the library. Our newspapers and magazines are directly in front of the entrance. The library has equipment for genealogy research and literature on the subject. All bookable computers in the libraries have access to ArkivDigital and the National Archives. A toilet is located directly to the left in the entrance and is free to use. A changing table is available, but there is no accessible toilet. We have 14 screened study places with power outlets on the ground floor. We also have several tables in the theater room one flight up, where you can sit and study when the room is not used for library events. You do not need to book a spot. We have two group rooms that you can book for two hours per day, max one day in advance. A maximum of two people can fit in the rooms, which are booked via phone or on-site. We do not have exhibition opportunities in the library.
