Skansen-Akvariet is one of the zoos in the country with the most animals, despite being only 3,000 square meters in size. It houses hundreds of different animal species. The animals we display can vary depending on the season, illnesses, temporary relocations, and more. Skansen-Akvariet AB is operated by its owner, Jonas Wahlström. Skansen-Akvariet is a tenant of the Skansen Foundation, which leased a demolition-threatened building to Jonas in 1978. In the then-old monkey house – and later in the new monkey house and monkey mountains – Jonas has constantly renovated and filled it with rare, endangered, and interesting exotic animals.
