Tyresta Nationalpark

Tyresta National Park is the largest primeval forest area south of the Dalälven. The national park is surrounded by Tyresta Nature Reserve and together they comprise 5000 hectares with 55 km of hiking trails. Gnarled, ancient pines that are hundreds of years old testify to the passage of time. Barren, rugged rocks smoothed by glacial ice and waves, when the nearby archipelago still extended this far. All beautifully framed by tall spruces that watch over mosses and lichens. The forest is punctuated by sparkling lakes, and in the air, there is a faint scent of bog myrtle and marsh tea.
