Drottningholms slott
Drottningholm Palace is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is our best-preserved royal palace built in the 17th century in Sweden and represents all European royal architecture from that time. Take a day trip to Drottningholm and experience a historically significant environment of the highest international class. Together with the exotic pleasure palace Kina Palace, the palace theater, and the magnificent palace park, the palace complex forms a unique whole. The palace was built after French models by architect Nicodemus Tessin the Elder at the request of Queen Hedvig Eleonora. Several royals have since left their mark on the palace. The royal family moved into Drottningholm Palace in 1981. Today, the palace is the permanent residence of the Royal Couple. The rooms in the southern part of the palace are reserved for the Royal Couple. However, the palace and park are mostly open to visitors year-round.
