The Viking Museum
The Viking Museum is an experience museum located on Djurgården in Stockholm, where history, myth, and archaeology meet in a living and interactive environment. It offers a nuanced and historically accurate picture of the Viking Age, including stories of women, children, and men who lived in Scandinavia, as well as daring seafarers. The museum features interactive exhibits, archaeological finds, historically reconstructed environments, and in-depth stations. Guides in Viking costumes are available to answer questions and bring history to life. A highlight is the dramatized ride, Ragnfrids Saga, which takes visitors on a journey through 10th-century Europe, following Harald's adventures of trade and plunder. The museum also explores Viking travels, trade, societal structure, family life, crafts, traditions, beliefs, mythology, and worldview. It is a popular destination for international tourists, families with children, school classes, and Stockholmers.
