Astrid Lindgrens hem på Dalagatan
The apartment at Dalagatan 46 in Stockholm was Astrid Lindgren's home from 1941 until her death in 2002. It holds many stories about both her professional and private life. Here she wrote, among other things, Pippi Longstocking, Mio, My Mio, and Ronja the Robber's Daughter, books that spread worldwide. Also, many debate articles, as well as the recently highlighted War Diaries, were written here. In the home, the thousands of letters that are now one of UNESCO's world memories were also answered. The residence at Dalagatan 46 is the place where her life took place and was lived. Here she shaped her independent view of the world, and here the foundation for her role as an opinion maker was laid. Astrid Lindgren's family has preserved the apartment in the same condition as when she lived, and the Astrid Lindgren Society administers tours of the residence for the public.
